Lettuce Ole'

Mom #2 enjoyed her first harvest of the season this morning.   I don't touch the garden, because we want it to grow . . . not die.  I have the worst luck with plants.

She picked out the biggest prettiest one to bring inside.

We're going to shred it on some yummy tacos for our Cinco De Mayo dinner tonight!

Jumped One Hurdle! Gearing Up For Another!

  

In order for Baby Boy and me to get anything better than a C in our composition class we have to pass a departmental exam (basically a marathon essay written unassisted in the testing center without the benefit of spell-check or fresh eyes to proofread your work for you) and then pass a post-test. 

Today we just found out that both of us passed our departmental exams! YES!!!

Now we have to get started studying for our post-test.  Baby steps.  Many, many baby steps. 

It's coming down to the end of the semester . . . two more weeks.   I have 4 finals . . . Baby Boy has two. 

That's one reason why I've been MIA so much . . . plus I had a nasty sinus infection, but no one wants to hear about that.  Anyway, I feel better now.

Big Boy Birthday!

Baby Boy turned 17 (OMG!) over the weekend and in celebration we loaded up the car with rowdy teenagers and spent the day playing Blazer Tag.  Turns out they weren't kidding when they said it was fun for kids seven to ninety-seven.  We all had so much fun!   

Look how many people we squeezed in that ridiculously small party room.  It was standing room only.  The event coordinator wrote down that Baby Boy was turning 7 instead of 17.  I don't think they were prepared for the man-sized armpits they were about to unleash in that little room, LOL.

 But it's not really all about Baby Boy . . . some of it's about me . . . obviously.

Reading Birthday Cards

What about playing arcade games, LOL

This is two hours AFTER the party was supposed to be over . . . some of us big kids were still going strong! 

And the best part is that we laughed and played so hard, that I didn't even have time to cry about about how fast my little Baby Boy is growing up, but I am feeling a little nostalgic about it this morning *SNIFF*   I'm crying even harder now that I'm balancing my checkbook, LOL.

YES!!!!!!

I have been stressing, rehearsing, writing and rewriting a presentation for my speech class for about three weeks now.

I finally did it today and made a good grade on it.  So good, in fact, that it raised my average in that class from a high B to a low A.  Now I just need to find a way to maintain it, LOL.

I've been struggling just to stay above water in that class, so I'm feeling fabulous today!

Dance!!! Dance!!! Dance!!!

All three of Mom #2's grand-kids spent the night with us this week. 

In case you're new or have forgotten . . . YES, I love them too, but since I'm much too young to have grandchildren, we'll be referring to them as Mom #2's grand-kids from now on.

Anyway, What better way to start off the weekend than by watching three beautiful little girls dance.  They love Yo Gabba Gabba!
