Well, a certain Grand-Baby-Girl turned one year old last week and she had a fun filled pool party with about a hundred of her closest friends and family (If you're familiar with the Hispanic tradition of First Birthday Parties, you'll know I am NOT exaggerating).
She had so much fun being the star of her birthday party!
She kicked the festivities off by lounging in the pool . . .
. . . Then she graced us with the opening of the gifts . . .
. . . The blowing out of candles . . .
. . . And finally, eating her delicious birthday cake!
A great time was had by all!. . . The blowing out of candles . . .
. . . And finally, eating her delicious birthday cake!
Oh, just in case you noticed a slight swell in her Mommy's tummy, yes, she is pregnant again . . . with twins. After the initial shock, we've all decided we're very happy, although I've been really researching lazy-teenager-friendly forms of birth control. Feel free to drop me a line if you know of any. ;-)
Until next time . . .

Wow! I'm amazed it's been a year. Happy partying.
And wow on the other as well. And twins, so double wow.
In my irresponsible older teenage years I had the 5 year tubes (Norplant) put in, but they had bad side effects and hurt like a bitch to get taken out. "You're going to feel some tugging." Ahh, that's not what I would call it. I'm not even surre it's still available.
She could get an IUD, since she's had a birth.
What a yummy little baby! Congrats!

Holy cow! For both events.
Wow. Beautiful Baby Grand-Girl is, well, beautiful!
Tell Momma to stock up on sleep 'cause she isn't gonna get any once the twins come. I know. They're turning 13 and I've been getting to sleep through the night for six months or so. ;-)
Twins. Wow. Good luck Grandmom #1, and to the rest of the family!!!
After dealing with two newborns and a toddler, she may commit herself to a life of celibacy until the kids are high school grads!
The Depo-Provera shot might be a good choice for her, as an alternative.
What a beautiful baby girl, and her mommy is beautiful too. It doesn't seem like it's been a year, but time is fleeting, isn't it?
My soon to be 21 year old niece has one year old twins -- a boy and a girl. They certainly keep her on the go. The one good thing I keep reminding her of is that she'll only be 40 when they're grown. (Of course we all know grown doesn't always mean on their own, but still...).
SWEET!
And I do know exactly what you mean by the hispanic birthday parties! Exhausting. But fun. But exhausting.
Congratulations on all accounts! I think having a toddler plus newborn twins might, in itself, be birth control. ;) Seriously, I have heard great things about the IUD. I can't use it because I had an ectopic pregnancy, but if that weren't the case I would get it.
For Llani's first b-day we had it catered by a Dominican place-- huge trays of moro, platanos, yuca, etc. and tons of family and friends. Llani slept through practically the whole party! :)
A YEAR?!? That's can't be right!
She is just so cute I want to smooch those little cheeks.
And twins?! My goodness you certainly have a lot on your plate.
Babies are blessings no matter what though, so congrats to your whole family!
Michelle
Congrats!
I will be sending good positive thoughts for Baby Boy!
There is a new birth control implant that is supposed to be better than the old Norplant; it is called Implanon.
